Daikin VRV
Inverter Compressor & PCB change
Location: Leicester, Leicestershire, Midlands
ACRC was contacted by a customer with a VRV unit in fault. Once on site we found the fault related to the compressor and or the inverter PCB. System was isolated and the unit covers removed. We found the Inverter PCB had blown and had burn marks on the board. The compressor covers were then removed, and a meg-ohmmeter was connected to see if the compressor was down to earth. Our compressor checker came back stating the compressor was down to earth. The compressor and the inverter PCB needed changing.
A return visit was booked with the customer, and we returned with the new compressor and inverter PCB. All refrigerant was removed and weighed out into a reclaim bottle. The refrigerant is reclaimed so we can use it again once the works are finished. Weighing out the refrigerant also allows us to check to see if the unit has lost any refrigerant over time. Once all the refrigerants had been removed, we un-brazed the old compressor and brazed in the new one. The Inverter PCB was then changed too. The system was then vacced and recharged with the reclaimed refrigerant we took out earlier. Unit then turned on and commissioned. We connected our Daikin service checker and monitored the unit’s running pressures and coil temperatures. All rubbish and faulty parts were removed from site and disposed of correctly.
